Vibrating Cup Mill

The vibrating cup/disc mill is designed for non-destructive crushing and fine grinding of large particle-size samples. It rapidly prepares samples to analytical-grade fineness and purity.

It supports a wide range of grinding applications, including:

  • Dry Grinding

  • Wet Grinding

  • Low-Temperature (Cryogenic) Grinding

  • Vacuum or Inert Gas-Protected Grinding

Working Principle & Safety Features

The vibrating disc (cup-type) grinder utilizes squeeze, impact, and friction forces generated during operation to achieve optimal size reduction:

  • Horizontal Circular Motion: The grinding kit is secured to a vibrating base plate using a quick-locking device. Together, the base plate and grinding kit perform a horizontal circular vibratory motion.

  • Rapid Fine Grinding: The abrasive elements inside the grinding cup generate high pressure, impact, and friction against the sample, achieving the desired fineness within 1 to 3 minutes.

  • Soundproof & Secure Design: The closed, soundproof grinding chamber features an automated safety lock that ensures the chamber can only be opened when the instrument has come to a complete stop.
