Mineral Jig
The BMPE Lab Model Jig Separator is a gravity concentration unit designed to separate materials based on differences in particle density and settling velocity within a medium. It is widely used for processing heavy minerals such as gold, tin, tungsten, manganese, and barite. As an essential instrument for mineral processing laboratories, it is ideal for research and beneficiation experiments involving both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as applications in the chemical and construction sectors.
Working Principle
Equipped with a specialized working sieve, the lab jig separator can process feed materials of uneven size. (Note: The auxiliary screen is supplied based on specific order requirements.)
Once the ore slurry is fed into the jigging chamber, diaphragm agitation creates fluid pulses that stratify the ore particles by specific gravity:
- Heavy & Fine Particles: Settle quickly, passing through the artificial bed gaps and sieve openings into the jig hopper.
- Light & Coarse Particles: Remain in the upper layer and are carried forward by the fluid flow toward the end discharge outlet.
The unit features a two-stage separation design where the Back Jig Chamber is set 50 mm lower than the Front Jig Chamber. Light mineral particles spill over the front chamber’s tail plate into the back chamber for a second pass of separation. The adjustable tail plate allows precise control over discharge size and flow rate.
